Ingredients

For the filling
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese softened
For the coating
  • 1 package (16 oz) chocolate melting wafers
  • 0.25 cup red and green Christmas sprinkles

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • 1 baking sheet

Method

Make the filling
  1. Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs in a food processor.
  2. Add the softened cream cheese and process until the mixture is evenly combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 36 balls, about 1 inch each, and arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Refrigerate for 1 hour, until firm.
Dip and decorate
  1. Melt the chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth.
  2. Dip each chilled ball in the melted chocolate, letting excess drip back into the bowl.
  3. Return the coated balls to the baking sheet and immediately add sprinkles.
  4. Refrigerate for 20 minutes, until the coating is set.
  5. Store the bon bons in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a smooth coating, dip the balls while thoroughly chilled. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freeze for up to 2 months. Dairy-free cream cheese and dairy-free chocolate melting wafers can be used if needed.
