  • 3 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.67 cup evaporated milk
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans chopped

Equipment

  • 1 9x13-inch baking pan
  • 1 heavy 4-quart saucepan
  • 1 candy thermometer

Method

  1. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang to lift out the candy.
  2. Combine the sugar, evaporated milk, and butter in a heavy 4-quart saucepan.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a full rolling boil.
  4. Continue stirring and cooking until a candy thermometer reads 234°F, about 4 to 6 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chocolate chips and marshmallow creme until smooth.
  6. Stir in the vanilla and pecans.
  7. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared pan.
  8. Let the candy cool at room temperature until firm, about 3 hours.
  9. Lift it out by the parchment and cut into 36 pieces.

Notes
